A performer in a vibrant costume with a party hat, holding a stick and a noisemaker, poses playfully against a colorful purple and black background with a spooky atmosphere.

Joe Kent-Walters is back with a new show from Frankie Munroe. Following the 2024 hit show Frankie Monroe: Live!!!, Kent Walters is back with the sequel called, yes you guessed it, Frankie Monroe: DEAD!!! (Good Fun Time). And like all good shows set in hell, it is being performed in the basement of Cabaret Voltaire.

As you enter Fantomas Rock plays, chains hang from the ceiling and moisture drips from the stones of this underground dungeon, sorry, fringe venue. We are introduced to the show’s premise through a Grizzly Tales-esque animation then Frankie emerges from the back singing in his distinct deep voice, ‘Welcome to Hell’.

The show follows Frankie’s quest to escape the underworld, rescue the Misty Moons pub from the evil gentrifier from Lancashire Vegas Day, and thus reclaim his title as king of Rotherham. Along the way, Kent-Walters delivers a mix of fresh material – including the brilliantly absurd “sausage slapper” and a healthy does of audience interaction that plays perfectly to his strengths – while also reviving crowd favourite classics like “egg in a bag.”

Once again, Kent-Walters has proven himself a master of surreal, high-energy character comedy. Frankie Monroe: DEAD!!! is every bit as strong a sequel as fans could have hoped for. Long live Frankie Monroe.
